Pastry Cook

The Bear, The fish, the root & the berry

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Cook who takes pride in what is delivered to our guests. 

The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry is Spirit Ridge’s signature restaurant. Featuring modern vineyard cuisine inspired by our indigenous roots. Our South Okanagan exclusive wine list has received a lot of media attention and our restaurant has awards from Tripadvisor as well top 100 patios in Canada from Open Table. Our restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course a glass of Okanagan wine daily.

The Pastry Cook, reporting to the hotel’s pastry chef, is responsible for supporting the resort’s culinary team in all aspects of desserts and baking.  The primary duty of the Pastry Cook is to prepare high quality pastries, cookies, breads, cakes and desserts to order for guests based on established guidelines, keep work area clean and organized and conduct his or herself in a positive professional manner.

Servers

Our Servers are an important part of the resort’s food and beverage services team.  This position reports to the hotel’s Food and Beverage Manager.

As a Server you are responsible to serve requested food and beverages to guests dining in the restaurant or in the hotel’s banquet facilities, providing prompt, courteous, and friendly service in every situation. Servers should be fully aware of all menu offerings with the ability to make recommendations to guests. Servers will additionally assist bussers with table set-up and clean-up as necessary to ensure service is prompt.

Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Sous Chef

Spirit Ridge

A Sous Chef at Hyatt-Spirit Ridge is a hands on and highly visible role within the resort, reporting to the Executive Chef. This is a key role that will be required to interact with leadership in every department, and be part of a creative and cohesive Food and Beverage Team. A Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef, ensuring that the team maintains the culinary vision created with exceptional quality and presentation. This position will support the culture and training programs required for the culinary and stewarding team, to ensure an efficient and profitable food service operation with the highest of cleanliness standards. The position demands passion and creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards.

The Sous Chef needs to work well under pressure, is organized, flexible, creative and self-motivated.
